Plasma and LCD

What will you see when you compare the same show on a plasma screen TV and a LCD TV? That depends mostly on where you watch it.

If you put the two television sets side by side in a room with light, chances are that you will not see a dramatic difference between the two pictures. However, if the light is turned off, the picture on the plasma TV will appear to be clearer and crisper. This sharper contrast and brightness in the plasma TV is due to more light being blocked from the background. On an LCD TV, some of the background lighting is not effectively blocked, which makes it look like weakened background color.

Another factor in the picture you see when comparing a plasma screen TV with an LCD TV is the angle at which you are viewing it. If you are head on, watching from the center of a room, you will have a more accurate comparison. When you view from an angle, plasma TVs tend to have the edge on the LCD models. The LCD models lose quality in brightness and contrast as you move away from their center. Plasma TVs, then, are great if you plan to put them in a room with a lot of seating options from various angles so more people can see a good picture.

When it comes down to making a decision between choosing a plasma screen TV or an LCD screen TV, the truth is that it is simply a matter of personal taste. Both kinds of television sets have the same approximate life span, about 25 years if the television is watched six hours a day or less. Both even pull the same amount of electricity on which to operate. At one time, this was not the case. In the beginning days of plasma TVs, those models required more power to run them. Advanced technology has evened out that issue over the past few years.

The big advantage that the plasma screen TVs have over the LCD TVs is size. Most plasma TVs are two to five inches thick. The LCD TVs are much thicker. Because of the flat, thin nature of the plasma television, the owner of a plasma TV can choose to wall mount the television. It becomes more of a piece of art than a mere entertainment accessory!

Panasonic Batteries

Panasonic makes a variety of dry AGM rechargeable batteries for all types of needs. Panasonic manufactures a wide range, for any portable electronic or device needs. When shopping for replacement batteries for anything from small hand held electronics to automotives, Panasonic is a excellent choice for batteries.

Panasonic is a manufacturer of numerous battery types.12 and 6V batteries are used for heavy machinery, automotives, or marine power supplies. 4 and 8 volt batteries are used for a number of things that may require less power like digital cameras and other hand held devices. Panasonic's AGM batteries may be used in a variety of things such as wheelchairs, emergency lighting, small engines, and starters.

Panasonic is known for their qualities batteries that will last a lifetime. Panasonic batteries have a number of protective qualities. All batteries are manufactured with resistance to things such as overcharge, improper discharge, vibration, shock, and varying storage conditions. This is very important for batteries that are not used frequently and need to be ready on demand.

Panasonic batteries vary greatly in price because there are many different types of batteries. Depending, price can range anywhere from $50 to $400. It all depends on the technology of the battery and what it is being used for. Smaller batteries for things like handheld electronics require less power and are generally less expensive. Higher voltage batteries for auto, marine, or other equipment are much larger, heavier, and more costly.

Panasonic batteries are a one stop shop for all battery needs. When purchasing Panasonic batteries, consumers can be certain they have purchased a dependable battery that can be relied on for any type of equipment.

Optima Batteries

Optima’s Spiral sealed lead acid batteries are available for a wide range of automotive equipment. Optima manufactures deep cycle batteries for automotive, marine and truck. When purchasing batteries it is important to know the specifications of the battery you need. There are a great number of optima batteries.

Optima batteries are a specialized type of battery know as absorbent glass mat, or AGM. In AGM batteries, electrolyte is absorbed by plates of fiberglass, and makes the battery sealed, and maintenance free. In the Optima battery, the mats are spiral which helps to relieve pressure of the mats and makes the battery more powerful.

Different types. Optima batteries are large batteries that are used for a number of high powered machines. They provide a strong and clean power source that helps batteries to last longer and be more effective in deep cycle start ups. There are 12v or 6v batteries depending on the type of equipment.

Optima’s Spiral sealed acid technology is a great and safe alternative in battery technology. When the battery is purchased it may be shipped normally, and there is no need to add electrolyte. Optima batteries are also safer than “spillable” batteries because they can be placed in any manner as opposed to being kept upright.

The Optima is truly an all around low maintenance battery. Beyond the fact it requires no activation, it is also composed of the best corrosion free components. Optima batteries also withstand higher temperatures, which allows them to last longer than traditional batteries. And the safety and functionality of the Optima battery is available for all types of machinery, whether it is auto, marine, or truck.

The Odyssey Optimizer

Odyssey batteries are high performance batteries for anyone interested in any type of high speed motorized sporting. One brand has surpassed the rest in offering high performance batteries, and that is Odyssey.

Odyssey, which claims to be the Extreme Battery, offers batteries for motorcycles, ATVs, utility vehicles, and personal watercraft such as jet skis. Odyssey batteries are military grade and can withstand the abuse that comes from high speed motorized sports. While most batteries will succumb to vibration and mechanical abuse, Odyssey batteries do not.

Odyssey batteries are the original rechargeable battery containing lead acid. However, these batteries are sealed so they avoid spilling which is a hazard in traditional “spillable” lead-acid batteries. They are also referred to as sealed-MF, or maintenance free, because they are shipped fully charged and do not require activation.

Odyssey has developed its own tester and charger to ensure the proper maintenance of their batteries. Known as the Odyssey Optimizer, this charger and tester is one of the best of the market for sealed lead-acid batteries. The type of charger required depends greatly on how the motorized sporting equipment is used. If the battery must be discharged rapidly and then recharged rapidly, this requires a different charger than if the battery must stay at a high state of charge with multiple starts and stops.

Odyssey batteries are the way to for anyone involved in motorized sporting. These types of batteries hold all the advantages over their rechargeable counterparts. Though the price can vary greatly, it is well worth the investment to have a reliable and powerful battery.
